The following table shows how the stock solutions are mixed to make up the phosphate-buffered Krebs-Ringer solution.

Solution 1 0.90% NaCl
100 parts
Solution 2 1.15% KCl
4 parts
Solution 3 1.22% CaCl2
3 parts
Solution 4 3.82% MgSO4.7H2O
1 part
Solution 5 0.1 M phosphate buffer 20 parts

(The phosphate buffer is made up by adding 0.1 mole of Na2HPO4 and 20 ml of 1M HCl to 1 litre of water.)
