Specimen Processing Information is entered in a computer and barcodes are printed and put on tubes. Loading Machine Tubes are placed into racks ready for robotic arms to load onto conveyor. Barcode Reader Barcodes are read, if there is a problem the tube is flagged for human intervention. Decap Caps are removed from tubes and discarded. CentrifugeTubes are spun at high speeds to separate blood cells from serum. AliquotDisposable  pipettes are used to aliquot the right amount of serum into tubes for testing. Immunoassay Tubes go into this section to do all immunological tests. Spectrophotometry All chemical tests such as enzyme assays are performed in this section. Tube Storage Tubes are stored in racks for access later if needed. Results Results are sent to the Doctor electronically and also in a printed form.
