One such solution is the Krebs-Ringer solution. It is named after two famous scientists: Sydney Ringer, a physiologist whose work in the late 1800's on the isolated frog heart pioneered much of what we know today about physiological media, and Hans Krebs a biochemist who subsequently modified and improved Ringer's original solutions and who is today best known for his classical work on the tricarboxylic acid cycle.
